AMR: Springfield AMR among other workers aiding hurricane recovery in southern states
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – As the cleanup from Helene continues, some local responders are staying down south to help after Milton hits.
For the past two weeks, crews from all over western Mass and the country have been aiding the south with Hurricane Helene efforts, with line crews in South Carolina to emergency responders across other states.
“When we first got here there was 30,000 out, and I think we’re down under 1,000 currently,” lineman Jon Szymonik from South Hadley Electric Light claimed.
We’ve learned American Medical Response in Springfield has deployed over a dozen people to impacted states.
