Argosy Collegiate Charter School: 20 Argosy students earn college degrees — plus a high school diploma

FALL RIVER — A cohort of 20 students from Argosy Collegiate Charter School crossed the stage at Bristol Community College’s graduation on May 16 with an associate’s degree in hand — about three weeks before they officially graduate from high school.
On June 4, the high school seniors will receive their diplomas acknowledging the completion of their secondary education studies at Argosy.
The dual graduations for the ambitious 20 are their first of their kind, said Holly Raposo, Argosy’s Dean of Early College. Out of a graduating class of 66 students, they managed to weave college-level coursework totaling to 60 credits into their itineraries.
Argosy, at 240 Dover St., offers a regionally unique Department of Secondary Education-designated wall-to-wall Early College Program, providing every student the opportunity to earn free college credits as early as the summer before their ninth grade in partnership with Bristol and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
