The latest climate change report to raise alarms in Boston puts a spotlight directly on one of our most valuable economic, environmental and quality-of-life assets: the marine environment.

Our city and surrounding communities are renowned for the beauty and bounty of our shoreline and ocean. Tourism, fisheries, real estate and countless natural benefits rely on the integrity of the waters off the coast of Massachusetts, which have warmed more than almost anywhere else in the world in recent years. That trend is expected to continue, based on the findings of Climate Change Impacts on the Marine Environment in the Greater Boston Area.
