Lighthouse Students Learn About The First Cape Codders

And Gain Wampanoag Perspective On Thanksgiving

EAST HARWICH – Sixth graders at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School recently had a lesson on Wampanoag culture, not by reading about it, but by sharing time together with members of the tribe and walking in the footsteps of the Cape’s first inhabitants around Pleasant Bay. In so doing, students gained a deeper understanding of the Thanksgiving story taught to most Americans.
