New England Donor Services: Shelton man’s life has new meaning after life-saving organ donation; ‘I was never going to give up’
SHELTON — Michael Serke, 40, carries with him the ultimate gift every day. Serke, a husband and father of three, contracted COVID-19 in early December 2021, with complications that kept him hospitalized for 11 months, six of which were on advanced life support.
His life was saved thanks to a double lung and liver transplant from an organ donor.
