SPCA: Springfield mother living in car worries federal cuts could harm dream to earn degree

SPRINGFIELD — Shawna Peebles has been living out of her car ever since she handed in

President Donald Trump’s recent executive order calling for the dismantling of the U.S.
Department of Education and his administration’s decision to make sweeping cuts to
various federal programs is leaving Peebles feeling fearful of her ability to fulfill her
dream of having her own residence to share with her son.
