A new program will allow people to get EMT certified while also being paid for their training. Vital EMS is partnering with the city of Worcester to launch the Earn While You Learn program. Springfield adopted it last fall and so far 35 people have already graduated from the program. In Worcester, Vital EMS is the back up 911 provider for Worcester EMS. They say they need EMTs more than ever.
Vital EMS’ Patrick Pickering, “Every market only has certain number of people and as baby boomers get older and now with COVID-19 the need for EMTs is more than ever.”
You can apply online at www.AMR.net. The program starts September 28th. Participants will graduate n December and become full time EMTs with Vital EMS in Worcester.
